Kannur International Airport has developed an Integrated Cargo Terminal with a plinth area of 1,200 Sqm having an annual capacity of 19,000 metric tonnes. Soon there will be another Cargo Complex dedicated for International Cargo. Kannur Airport is now aiming to become the air cargo hub for the region especially for perishables.

Kannur Airport has a larger catchment area covering the distance of Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Coorg and Mangalore. With the Air Cargo Complex now operational combined with Kannur Airport potential to source cargo from its catchment area makes Kannur Airport ideal to become the cargo gateway of the region.

Cargo Service Center has been appointed as the agency to operate and manage the cargo terminal.Kannur Airport will facilitate the export of high-value vegetables, flowers,fish, meat, spices,handloom, coffee, handicrafts, pharmaceuticals,marine products etc. There are a large number of processing units for dry fruits, marine products, spices,fish products etc. which provides greater opportunity to the export-import community in the region.
