Kannur Airport has developed a temporary Integrated Air Cargo Complex which can handle 18000MT of cargo per annum. The Air Cargo Complex was commissioned on 18 February 2021 with Domestic Cargo Operations and the International Cargo Operations was commissioned on 16 October 2021.
A larger International Cargo Complex is expected to be operational soon. This facility can handle 60000MT of cargo per annum. The catchment area of Kannur Airport covers districts like Kannur, Kasaragod, Wayanad, Mahe (Part of Union Territory of Pondicherry), Coorg and nearby areas of Mysore of Karnataka State.

- The free period For Export Cargo shall be 48 hrs for examination /processing by the Shippers/Airlines.
- Consignment of humans remain coffin including unaccompanied baggage of deceased and human eyes are exempted from the purview of TSP & demurrage charges.
- Special cargo consists of live animals, hazardous goods, ornamental fish, chicks etc.,
- Charges will be levied on the “Gross Weight or the “Chargeable Weight” of the consignment, whichever is higher. Where ever the “Gross Weight” and (or) “Volume Weight” is wrongly indicated on the AWB and is found more, charges will be levied on the “Actual Gross Weight” or “ Actual Volumetric Weight”, whichever is higher.
- For Mis-declaration of weight above 2% and up to 5% of declared weight penal charges @ double the applicable TSP charges will be levied. For variation above 5% the penal charges will be levied at 5 times the applicable TSP charges of the differential weight.
- GST and other applicable taxes, if any shall be charged extra at applicable rates.

Notes:
- Free storage period for import cargo shall be (3 working days including the date of arrival of flight) 48 hours from the time of completion of segregation. For the next two days, demurrage will be charged at “per Kg: per Day” Non- cumulative basis provided the consignment is cleared within 4 days. If clearance is effected after 4 days from the time of completion of segregation, demurrage will accrue for the entire period from the time of completion of segregation.
- Consignment of humans remain coffin including baggage of deceased and human eyes will be exempted from the purview of TSP, demurrage and D.O charges.
- Charges will be levied on the “Gross Weight or the “Chargeable Weight” of the consignment, whichever is higher.
